This year we planned to go to a different town's parade. I'm kinda tired of the local one here. It's a little boring. I'm use to the big ones with marching bands & floats. This parade didn't disappoint. We just didn't anticipate that we parked close to the residential section versus the business district. Chris couldn't walk too far due to his back issue. So we ended up on the very sunny, hot side of the street. Fortunately, we found a family who let us share their lawn!
Later that afternoon, we enjoyed a nice BBQ and planned to attend the fireworks show. Sarah was really excited about that part of the day. After lunch, Chris started not to feel well. I honestly didn't think much of it assuming it had to do with the pain issues connected with his back. So I went to visit with my neighbors and share some desserts I had made for the holiday. Not long into the visit, Chris calls their home asking me to come home. I found him laying on the floor between our kitchen and living room. He was writhing in pain. Long story short: an ambulance trip to the ER, an almost overdose of pain drugs (yep he was turning blue & unconscious), a CT Scan to reveal 2 kidney stones, an admittance to the hospital, and surgery on Wednesday morning to retrieve 1 of the 2 stones was how our July 4th ended.
Sarah with no shoes in the middle of the road!
Best seat in the house!
You see that lady on the left side of the picture that obviously not with the band? That's where she stood the whole parade. Some bands had to march around her. It bugged me because I couldn't get any good pictures without her in them!
A little strange way to advertise?
