The date finally arrived for Chris' neuro-psych evaluation. The date, the doctor, and the location were out of our control. It was scheduled seven weeks after it was requested in downtown Chicago at 8 AM. He can barely ride in the car from our home to his doctor's office 15 minutes away. I was stressed about the best way to get him downtown during morning rush hour. Clearly the insurance company doesn't care about his quality of life or they would have put some thought behind this location and time.
Thankfully we were given the option of a downtown hotel. So we rented a wheelchair and took the train. We knew the train would at least get us there in a defined amount of time versus the expressway. We spent a one nighter on beautiful Michigan Avenue!
The evaluation was finished around 9 AM so we decided to enjoy a little of the city. We didn't have long considering Chris' pain level. Fortunately Millenium Park was right across the street from the doctor's office.
Splashing in the water at Millenium Park easily made it to the top of her list of favorite things she did during our visit. She really wanted to let the spray get her clothes wet. Maybe next time!?!
The wildflower gardens in Millenium Park. The sun was too harsh to photograph the real beauty of this garden. I would love to go back really early in the morning or sunset. Autumn must be fantastic!
The Bean!
Can you believe this was the first time seeing it wit my own eyes? Crazy I know. We've just never made time to go. I'm so excited that I got to cross Millenium Park off my Chicago to do list!
