Maternal Instincts

Sarah has been in baby love for a while now. It was very apparent when my nephew Brayden was born this past August. She couldn't keep her lips off of him. She received this baby doll for her birthday and has played with it every so often until lately. She loves her baby. Either I didn't realize these little instincts come so soon (she's only 18 months old) or time has really flown past me!

She takes very good care of her baby. She washes her hair with water from the dog bowl, puts lotion on her, rocks & shushes her, and gives her a bottle. I think it's really funny that she gives the baby a bottle since she rarely took one herself. She only had a bottle maybe 5 times if that. I hope this means that I'm doing a great job of taking care of her since she is most likely imitating me.

I know this isn't the best picture and it doesn't neccessarily go with maternal instincts, but it's definately part of imitation. Sarah likes to pretend she's putting on make-up. She loves to dig in my make-up bag and I let her take a couple pieces with her. I now know she's able to open the blush container! She blushed her whole right cheek and chin!

It is funny how young they learn to mother. Olivia was in love with her baby at 12 months! I've found Charlotte hugging and kissing a baby doll a couple times already! They do grow up so fast.
