I've been reluctant to post about this topic since we're not officially potty training. At Sarah's 18 month pediatric check-up, the ideas & recommendation sheet given at each visit stated that 18 months is a good age to introduce the potty. So I thought we would give it a try. The day I brought the potty home, she had nothing to do with it. I didn't want to force the issue, so we let her play with her potty.
Just by having the potty, she began to announce when she went pee pee in her diaper. I was impressed, yet she wouldn't sit on the potty at all. Finally she started sitting on the potty, with diaper and pants still on.
One day she told us she wanted to go potty. We spent a couple of days trying to use the potty rather unsuccessfully. Then it happened! Sunday morning about a month ago, she insisted on sitting on the potty. She sat there forever. I had to leave for work. Just as I was turning on Golf Road, Chris called to say she used the potty for the very first time. She was very sporadic for about a week and a half after that. Only using the potty for Chris.
Now she's using the potty at least once a day, if not two or three times. We're still not focused on "training" her. I know set backs are bound to happen and she's only one!

Ok, I'm jealous! You want me to send Brennon to you? He is so not wanting to have anything to do with it. I keep hoping one day he will even tell me potty. We'll see.
