Sarah's First Day of Preschool

Today was the big day.  Today was one of the days I thought about when I swaddled my pretty in pink baby girl in my arms 3 years ago.  Today was her first day of preschool.

I know maybe the first two sentences of this post sounds like she is off to kindergarten & starting the K-12 school years.  Well for me, today marks an important milestone in our relationship as well as her development.  I've been blessed to be a working from home stay at home mom.  Is there a monaker for that?  If not there should be (WAHM).  Anyway I think today is really important for many reasons.  Mainly she has never been in someone else's care.  It takes trust on both of our parts.

She did really well.  She was brave as we stood in line & swapped kisses into one another's pockets.  I however was a little choked up, but didn't want her to see.  She was brave when she picked out her chair at the table and brave when I stepped back to take the picture.  Her braveness turned to tears when I gave her one last hug goodbye.  It was those tears & pouting lip that had me near tears as I walked back to my car.  We both survived!

We drove to a park after school for a picnic.  While driving we talked about what happened at preschool.  When I told her she will have so much fun on Thursday, she replied, "I have to go back again?"
