This morning as we were loading in the Tahoe heading to preschool, Sarah noticed a pair of Chris' work boots. She thought he had left them at home. I told her those were special boots Daddy wears when working in water. She quickly replied that God promised to never flood the Earth again. I praised her understanding of The Word. Never to be one to let a moment pass, she asked if her Daddy helped clean up after Noah's flood!
It was a great laugh for me, but one that didn't make sense to her. The great flood could have been last year for all she knows. I wonder if she thinks the birth of Jesus was just a few years ago? Or if Heaven and Earth were newly created?
Driving home I thought about how wonderful it is to be a child. So close to Heaven that when she sleeps I can see the peace Jesus promises each of us. She doesn't realize life is fleeting and that she is growing way too quickly for my liking. It's moment's like these that make me grateful that I get to share every day with my blessing from above!
