Thanksgiving Day Wrap Up

This year, like most years, it was a quite Thanksgiving just the three of us at home.  I love spending the holidays with family and friends, but it ususally doesn't work out for Thanksgiving.  I couldn't be any happier spending the day with my two favorite people and that's exactly what I did!

The day started off nice and lazy.  No rush for just the three of us to eat early.  Thanksgiving is always served at dinner time at our house.  We started with a french toast casserole in the oven while we watched The Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.  This was one of my Honeybun's favorite parades to watch.  I watch every year, but this year felt a little more special to me.

The menu was nice and easy.  I was surprised how everything went in and came out of the oven on time!  We had the juciest turkey breast every.  Who knew mayoneise was the trick?  Cornbread dressing and roasted veggies with a rosemary olive oil coating were the fixings.  The menu was complete with a home made apple pie ala mode.  Yumm-o!

The kitchen was a quick clean up.  The night ended with a visit from an elf sent directly from the north pole.  Her name is Lucy which may change to Sophie.  She's doing good work here!  I'm sure a post will soon come about her.  All in all it was a wonderful Thanksgiving.

We are thankful for wonderful family and friends who have seen us through the ups and downs of this year!
